Groundwater Information
AVAILABLE GROUNDWATER DETERMINATION: This report was prepared by consultants for the Wyoming Water Development Commission as part of the Wind/Big Horn River Basin water plan of 2003. The report discusses each of the geologic formations found in the basin in terms of their potential as future groundwater sources. Table 2 of the report (pages 37 - 40) summarizes the findings. It is helpful to view the Bedrock Geology Maps of the Plan Map Series to understand the locations of the geologic formations discussed in the report.

WYOMING GROUNDWATER VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT HANDBOOK: In the Plan Map Series, the consultants have used the State of Wyoming's Geohydrologic Setting Map for Big Horn County to represent the availability of groundwater. The procedures used by the state to create the map are explained in the following document, particularly starting at page I-44.
